Why does the Minnesota Craft Beverage Council exist?
Minnesota’s craft beverage ecosystem has blossomed from a burgeoning group of sub-industries into a full-fledged staple of the Minnesota commercial landscape in relatively short order. As the industries of beer, wine, cider, and spirits grew quickly in Minnesota, unfortunately, our laws simply haven’t been able to catch up.
That’s why we formed the Minnesota Craft Beverage Council—to engage in collaborative advocacy that removes arbitrary regulations and modernizes state liquor laws so that all small and independent producers have the opportunity to thrive.
How many businesses does The Minnesota Craft Beverage Council represent?
There are more than 350 craft beverage producers in the state of Minnesota.
How many people does the craft beverage industry employ in Minnesota?
Approximately 6,250 Minnesotans make their living in the craft beverage industry––in many diverse jobs from production, to service and hospitality, to sales and marketing, and many more.
Can other businesses support your efforts?
Yes! We’ve partnered with Hospitality MN and the Minnesota Independent Restaurants Coalition for the 2021 bill, and are always open to more help.
